Read Full Review →FromSoftware has done the seemingly impossible: crafted an expansion that not only matches the quality of the base game but in several respects surpasses it. Nightreign introduces three entirely new biomes — the Ashen Wastes, the Sunken Canopy, and the Fracture Peaks — each with distinct enemy rosters, environmental hazards, and lore threads that deepen the already rich mythology of the Lands Between.
Combat has been refined with a new poise system that rewards aggressive play without trivialising encounters. The five new boss fights are among the most memorable in the series, demanding pattern recognition and adaptability in equal measure. Performance on PC is excellent at 1440p, maintaining a locked 60fps even in the most particle-dense arenas.
For Australian players, the local server infrastructure has improved significantly, with Sydney and Melbourne nodes providing sub-30ms latency for co-op sessions. If you own the base game, Nightreign is an absolute must-play.
